---------------------------------------------------------------------- From the HSLDA E-lert Service... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- April 5, 2002 Dear New York Members and Friends, This is to remind you of the importance of attending the Home School Rally hosted by New York's home schooling organization Loving Education at Home (LEAH). If you want to help reduce the home school regulations by 75%, your labor is VITAL. We urge you to attend the LEAH Rally on Wednesday, April 10, 2002. The rally will start at 1:00 p.m. sharp on the capitol steps in Albany and will include HSLDA Senior Counsel Chris Klicka as speaker. A strong showing is crucial for passing S.B. 4767. Calls are also needed to urge the New York Assembly Education Committee members to attend the rally. REQUESTED ACTION 1. Call as many members of the Assembly Education Committee (listed below) as you can and give them the following message: "Please attend a home school rally at 1:00 on Wednesday, April 10, 2002 at the capitol steps in support of Senate Bill 4767. Please vote for S.B. 4767, which will relieve public school officials and home schooling parents from burdensome administrative tasks. Home educators have earned the right to regulatory relief after demonstrating their success under the current law for the past 14 years." 2) Pray that God would influence the hearts of the Senate and Assembly members to vote in favor of S.B. 4767. 3) We urge you to make time to attend this rally.
