---------------------------------------------------------------------- From the HSLDA E-lert Service... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- April 3, 2002 Dear Georgia Members and Friends, Georgia House Bill 1590 passed out of the Senate State and Local Government Committee yesterday. There is no more need to contact the members of this committee except to thank them for their votes. The bill is expected to move to the Senate Rules Committee next Tuesday before it can be sent to the full Senate for a vote. REQUESTED ACTION 1) Call your state senator and give him this message: "Please vote for House Bill 1590 which will allow home school parents with special needs children to obtain the same special education services as private school students." To get the name and telephone number of your state senator, use HSLDA's Legislative Toolbox at: http://www.hslda.org/toolbox. 2) Call as many members as possible of the Senate Rules Committee (listed below) and give them this message: "Please vote for House Bill 1590 which will allow home school parents with special needs children to obtain the same special education services as private school students."
