2. School Censuses Concern Home Educating Families

Many states have provisions for local school districts to conduct a
census every to assist in planning for school construction and
budgeting. Home schoolers are often unsure whether or not they are
required to participate.

3. HSLDA Represents Vermont Family in Hearing

Home School Legal Defense Association represented a member family
against a Vermont Department of Education challenge of their home
school.

4. Pennsylvania School District Rescinds Illegal Policy

After Home School Legal Defense Association contacted the Littlestown
Area School District on behalf of a member family, the district's
assistant superintendent assured HSLDA that the district would fully
comply with state law.

5. Massachusetts Home Schooling Family Rejects School District
Ultimatum

Despite bullying from their local school district, one family of
Greenfield, Massachusetts has refused to comply with the district's
intrusive and illegal home education requirements.
