Kentucky's Proposed Regulations Gain Support Once again, the state legislature is considering a bill to dramatically increase home schooling regulations including home visits from the local truancy officer and annual testing. HSLDA and other home school support organizations in Kentucky are together vigorously opposing any changes. Washington State Law Would Stampede Parents' Rights House Bill 2322 would permit any person, even someone not related to a child by blood or marriage, to have visitation rights with the child under certain conditions. The bill's premise is that a minor child has an "interest in maintaining significant relationships with nonparents," even over the objections of his or her parents.
