HSLDA Monitors Recent UN Activity
Home School Legal Defense Association opposes international treaties that would undermine American families, like the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC). We believe the CRC is one of the most dangerous attacks on parental rights ever. Although it has been temporarily halted in the United States, we continue to monitor this treaty to make sure it is not implemented in this country. We are also watching for any other UN activity that would adversely affect family freedom.

UN Subcommitee Ousts U.S. and Targets Family Groups
"The same UN subcommittee that earlier this month booted the United States from the UN Human Rights Commission is trying to keep Family Research Council from participating in UN discussions. Also targeted by some delegations of the 19-member subcommittee responsible for accrediting non-governmental organizations (NGO) are Freedom House, the Baptist World Alliance and the Simon Wiesenthal Center (the famed Nazi hunters). Among the fully accredited members of this subcommittee are delegates from China, Algeria, Cuba, Pakistan, Russia, and Sudan. FRC staffer Darren Logan was grilled for hours by hostile questioners during his recent visit to UN headquarters in New York. Then, the subcommittee delayed, once again, FRC's application to be an NGO at the UN." - frc.org
