HSLDA Attends Thank You Reception with John Ashcroft

WASHINGTON D.C. - On Wednesday, March 14, NCHE's Doug Domenech represented HSLDA at a reception in Washington with Attorney General John Ashcroft. Hosted by Family Research Council and Prison Fellowship, the intimate gathering of 60 or so people was organized to thank those organizations that worked so hard for the Ashcroft nomination.

"It was an inspiring moment," said Domenech. "It is really something to see the sitting Attorney General of the United States so comfortable quoting scripture and so well versed on the cultural battle in our country."

Ashcroft shared a story with the group of how he was called on to open in prayer during the first Bush Cabinet meeting.
