Issue Description HSLDA feels very strongly that local support groups are a vital element in maintaining a strong homeschooling community. Support groups not only offer encouragement and resources on a local level, but also are extremely effective in spreading important information on homeschool laws, legislation, and issues to individual homeschool families. Therefore, HSLDA desires to provide information and resources to help homeschoolers start and maintain local support groups. Issue Background Support groups have been around almost as long as homeschooling, and currently almost every state has at least one state-wide organization, as well as many smaller, local groups. HSLDA has gained much benefit from working with these groups, especially when advocating for the freedom to homeschool in state legislatures.
