Issue Description
Many homeschoolers, especially during the high school years, are interested in participating in activities in their local public school that are otherwise unavailable to homeschoolers. This includes sports, music, and other academic programs.
Issue Background
Many times public schools are the only place that homeschoolers can have access to these types of programs, but many public schools will not allow homeschoolers to play on their teams or participate in their classes. In response to this, many states have passed laws forcing schools to give access to homeschoolers, but a majority of states still leave it up to the local school districts. HSLDA takes a neutral position on these laws, but we have done research on the pros and cons of homeschoolers gaining access to public school programs.
