HOMESCHOOLERS TO HOLD RALLY IN ALBANY
Purcellville, VA Homeschool families from around New York will gather for the Homeschool Rally at the State Capitol Building tomorrow, Tuesday May 11 at noon.
New York has some of the most restrictive homeschool laws in the country. New York homeschoolers cannot attend New York colleges unless they take the GED, a test designed for high school dropouts. Homeschoolers are not dropouts.
"This year, New York has an opportunity to lift the regulatory burden from both homeschoolers and public school administrators," said Chris Klicka, Senior Counsel for Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA).
HSLDA has been at the forefront of the modern homeschool movement and homeschooling is now entering the mainstream.
"Homeschool graduates are succeeding in all walks of life and consequently many families are gaining the confidence to begin homeschooling for themselves," said Klicka
