NCAA LIFTS HOMESCHOOL RESTRICTIONS

Washington, DC – The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) has removed the restrictions on homeschool students applying for scholarships. "This is a great day for homeschool freedom," said Chris Klicka, Senior Counsel for Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA).

HSLDA applauds the NCAA for recognizing that the previous system was burdensome and unfair to homeschool students. Homeschoolers can now compete on a level playing field with public school students.

"It has been a long road but homeschoolers are now receiving the recognition they deserve," said Klicka.

The new NCAA homeschool policy begins April 2004.
