As a homeschool dad, you may know you need to support your wife better—maybe she’s told you that in so many words! But the real challenge is where theory meets practice. Today on Home School Heartbeat, HSLDA attorney and homeschool dad Mike Donnelly joins HSLDA President Mike Smith to give some practical examples. Mike Smith: Mike Donnelly: Mike Smith: Mike Donnelly: One of the things I do, Mike, is the grocery shopping in our home. With the demands of being a homeschool mom, I figure one thing I can do to take some burden off of her is grocery shopping. So I do that at night time or on the weekends. Usually I bring one of my children with me. I also make sure to support her expectations of the children when they may be shirking or not performing as well, and that helps her from having to be a nag. Mike Smith: Mike, thank you for those very helpful suggestions for homeschool dads. Until next time, I’m Mike Smith. |
