Of everyone who touches our lives, mothers start earliest and often last longest. Two homeschool graduates talk about the influence of their mothers, today on Home School Heartbeat, with host Mike Farris.
Mike Farris:
This week, we’re honoring the dedication and impact of mothers. Today, two homeschool graduates join me to talk about the lasting legacy of their own mothers. Christina, welcome to the program.
Christina:
Thank you. It’s a pleasure to be here!
Mike:
Christina, what is the greatest legacy you’ve received from your mother?
Christina:
I think above all else, the most important legacy my mom has given me has been her passionate and contagious love of God’s Word. I remember as a child waking up early in the morning and seeing my mom alone, quietly studying the Word of God. That had an impact on me as a child. And even though that motivated me as a child, now that I’ve gone away to college, it’s had an even bigger impact on me—just something that will stick with me for the rest of my life.
Mike:
Christina thanks so much for sharing that.
Eric is with me as well. Eric, thanks for joining us.
Eric:
Thank you, Dr. Farris. It’s an honor to be here.
Mike:
Eric, how has the faithfulness of your mother impacted your life?
Eric:
There’s really one thing that really sticks out to me about my mother. My mom exemplifies a biblical definition of love. My mom has sacrificed everything for her children. But she finds her joy in seeing God’s glory through the family and through the children that she loves so much. That’s what led her to homeschooling. And today she’s the kind of woman who, as the Bible describes, whose children rise up and call her blessed.
Mike:
Eric, no mother could possibly fail to be moved by those kind things that you said about your mom. God bless you. I’m Mike Farris.
