A mother’s love has been immortalized through the ages in story, song, and art. Today on Home School Heartbeat, host Mike Farris hears from a few special guests who share their own methods of thanking their mothers.

Mike Farris:
Moms, do you know what a great undertaking mothering is? There may be days that you feel overworked and underappreciated, but let me assure you—it is worth the effort. Today, two children join me to talk about how they show appreciation for their moms. Alec, what do you do to make your mom feel special?

Alec:
When my mom has a tough day, I give her little love notes. Sometimes I’ll cut out a heart and put little sparkles on it. The tough part is doing it in secret so she doesn’t know. After I do all that, then I can write a little note, like “I love you.” When I give it to my mom, it always makes her smile. Another thing I do is just to give mom a big hug. Hugs always make mom hug me back.

Mike:
Alec, thank you so much—I’m sure your mom loves when you give her notes and give her hugs.

David, thanks for joining me today!

David:
Hello, Dr. Farris! It’s great to be here!

Mike:
David, how do you show love and appreciation to your mom?

David:
Well, I just love hugging and kissing her and telling her I love her so very, very much. I love to help her in any way I can. It is great when she wants something, because I just love running to get what she wants. I show appreciation to her by helping her in any way I can.

Mike:
David, I’m sure your mom is very appreciative of your love and loves you so much in return. I’m Mike Farris.
