What do you remember doing with your mother? What do your children treasure doing with you? Today, several children share what they most enjoy doing with their mothers, on Home School Heartbeat, with host Mike Farris.
Mike Farris:
The time that a mother spends with her children is one of the most precious gifts she can give. Today, two homeschooled children join me to talk about those special times with their moms. Hi, Alec—thanks for joining me today!
Alec:
Hi!
Mike:
Alec, you have a pretty special mom. Can you tell our listeners what’s the coolest thing your mom does with you?
Alec:
My mom does a lot of special things with me. But probably the most fun thing that our family does is to make movies. We all get together and think of a plot. Then we dress up like our characters and we film the movie. Once my mom dressed up like a fat lady, and that’s just silly! It was pretty funny. Our family has made about two movies, and we love to watch them. It’s fun to see how we were just a few years ago!
Mike:
Thanks, Alec. That sounds like a lot of fun.
Anna is here with me, too. Hi, Anna!
Anna:
Hello! It’s great to be here!
Mike:
Anna, what’s your favorite thing to do with your mom?
Anna:
I like to do math, especially math problems with Mommy. I like baking scones and cakes. My mommy is my teacher. Also, me and Mommy sew, too. We sew pretty dressed for my dolls. I love my mommy.
Mike:
What’s your favorite kind of math problem? Can you do a math problem for me? What’s the square root of 64?
Anna:
Umm
Mike:
Is that too hard?
Anna:
8!
Mike:
Whoa! How old are you?
Anna:
Seven.
Mike:
Whoa! Okay, there you have it folks, homeschooling works! I’m Mike Farris.
