Traditions: An Interview with Noel Piper

Vol. 86, Prg. 26-30
December 15-19, 2008

Mike Farris is joined by Noël Piper, author of Treasuring God in Our Traditions, to explore an important facet of child training. We often don't give traditions a second thought, but they permeate our lives. Holidays, schedules, routines, special celebrations, mealtimes—these traditions are means to laying up God's Word in our own heart, then passing that Word on to our children. By becoming more aware of traditions, we can use them to guide and shape our family’s spiritual life.

Noël Piper has been married to John since 1968, and together they have labored at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Minneapolis since 1980. Program Offer

Only God can bequeath God to our children. Only God can give our children a taste for his sweetness and awaken them to his worth. But he uses human means to do so—God-centered traditions, Bible-saturated family patterns, and grace-laden heirlooms. Year in and year out, traditions show your children that God is our treasure. In this book, Noël Piper opens her home to you, sharing biblically-rooted insights from her more than 30 years of marriage and child rearing. Come with her and enjoy this glimpse into how your family can learn to treasure God through traditions. Hardcover, 114 pages.
