In the midst of a busy day, you might feel like you can’t hear your own thoughts—much less the still, small voice of God! Today on Home School Heartbeat with HSLDA President Mike Smith, take a minute to listen to some practical advice from a mom who’s learned how to hear God through the chaos. Mike Smith: Rachael Carman: The bottom line, I believe, is it is an intentional, conscious choice to slow down and take that time every day with God. Now, I think I could make a case for early in the morning, and certainly that’s my choice, for me to get up early in the morning, before the pitter-patter of little feet, before—I don’t know if anybody else has this—wet beds and grumpy attitudes and spilt milk, I need to be on my face in the word with God so I can be prepared to face that time! So for me, it means getting up early, it means taking all of my concerns, all of my cares, all of my frustrations, all of those things that I don’t know what to do with, to the throne of grace before the sun even comes up, so that I can be prepared and so that I can see God work all day long.
