Mike Farris:
Mark, in order to have local contests on September 12, 2009, you need local people—churches, school groups, homeschool organizations, parents, others—to start local competitions. Tell us about that.
Mark Rasche:
Yes, we are right now in our recruitment phase, Mike, and between now and January 31, 2009, we’re asking individuals—anybody who’s interested in their local communities—to call us, to essentially work with one of our event planners to set up a local contest in their area.
Mike:
What kinds of organizations or people are you looking for to start these contests?
Mark:
Well, actually, we’re leaving it open to just about any group. It can be a church, it can be a school, it can be a homeschool group of any kind—so it really doesn’t have to be defined too specifically. What we’re looking for, though, is just any group of people that are passionate about this goal and that want to partner with us.
Mike:
Mark, what are your expectations of a person who would host a local Bible Bee?
Mark:
Well, Mike, first they would need to call us, and we would walk them through this entire process. We have a comprehensive procedure manual that is laid out in a very simple way. It’s very easy to use, and we'll coach them through that entire process.
Mike:
So, Mark, they’re responsible for working with you to put on an event that’s just like a spelling bee—is that right?
Mark:
That’s correct.
Mike:
Listeners, if you are interested in helping hundreds of young people in your area, become a part of the Bible Bee. I’m Mike Farris.
