The David Parker Story, Part 5: The Crux of the Case
Volume 84, Program 10
8/15/2008
Listen Now

Dr. David and Tonia Parker have spent the last three years in court, attempting to win a case requiring schools to notify parents of programs promoting the homosexual agenda. Find out why their case is important to you on today’s Home School Heartbeat with Mike Farris.

Mike Farris:
David, in a nutshell, what is the crux of your case that is now pending before the Supreme Court?

Dr. David Parker:
The crux of the case is—what we’re asking is called injunctive relief: at the bare minimum, to have the teachers and the administrators be open and transparent about what they’re doing. If a parent comes into an elementary school and says they want to be notified when they’re going to have discussions around homosexuality or gay marriage, that those parents have to be notified—and have the option to opt their children out of this type of indoctrination. That’s essentially what we’re asking for.

Part of the objective in doing this, Mike, is that they tried to keep this in the darkness. When they don’t want to tell parents the truth about what they’re doing, part of the objective of the lawsuit is to get them to admit exactly what they're doing.

God bless homeschoolers. Parents have got to be engaged more than ever, particularly with their young children. There’s a set of values that are devious and evil being taught to little children around the country. We can see that this is where gay marriage has taken us, by having the government basically put their endorsement and stamp of approval on it, they think they can go right into the schools and teach young children this—to embrace this kind of behavior.

Mike:
David, thank you for your courageous stand, and we wish you Godspeed in the days ahead. I’m Mike Farris.
