Our daughters are constantly bombarded with harmful ideas from the media and pop culture telling them who they should be. Homeschooling provides the opportunity to teach our daughters who God wants them to be. We’ll hear more on today’s Home School Heartbeat with Mike Smith.
Mike Smith:
Patti, one of the benefits of homeschooling is that it allows a lot of freedom to take advantage of programs like American Heritage Girls—which is great. But now let’s flip it around—how does a program like this help homeschooling?
Patti Garibay:
Well, homeschoolers do love American Heritage Girls and I believe it’s for multiple reasons. First, they admire the foundational principles of AHG. They find that these Christ-centered principles of AHG complement, not contradict, their family values. And secondly, they really like the concept of our family friendly structure. American Heritage Girls has a really unique, multi-level program that allows sisters of various ages to enjoy membership in the same troop. Thirdly, American Heritage Girls adds to the homeschool curriculum. AHG has over 60 age-appropriate badges and countless outdoor, leadership, and service opportunities. Fourthly, I believe AHG provides social interaction that homeschoolers consistently seek. AHG offers a full calendar of fun. And finally, AHG provides a safe, all-girl environment while girls can stretch themselves while being mentored by God-loving role models. AHG and homeschoolers are really a great partnership.
Mike:
Well, Patti, we agree with that. It’s been such a privilege having you on the show this week. And until next time, I’m Mike Smith.
