Mike Farris:
My guest again today is Kerry Wall, who’s a homeschooling mom of four kids. Kerry and her husband David have created and produced a wonderful feature film called Noëlle that’s released in theaters nationwide right now. It’s in your theaters today. Kerry, how did you handle homeschooling while you were filming the movie?
Kerry Wall:
Before we made Noëlle, another homeschooling mother had to gently enlighten me that this experience was going to be an opportunity of a lifetime for our whole family. And our books would still be there when we were finished. I had to recognize that and delight in the path the Lord was putting is on, although it was a little scary. We really involved our children in every step of the process of making Noëlle. In fact, three of our four children acted in it. Through the whole process, we felt with the education they received, being a part of it brought them face to face with life. We’re not the strong, the famous, the rich, the powerful. We had to cover a lot of jobs to get this done. The chance for the children to pray and watch God answer prayer in miraculous ways daily through the process was inspiring. Homeschooling has allowed us that freedom, to learn in the midst of living our lives and to recognize a once in a lifetime experience and leap at the opportunities presented by it.
Mike:
Kerry, I’m sure that our listeners are going to really enjoy seeing your homeschool project called Noëlle. It’s in theaters now. I’m Mike Farris.
