A mom’s job is not menial, it’s a difficult task to keep home, school, and family running smoothly all the time. This week, Mike Smith talks with author and homeschool mom Marilyn Rockett as she shares some practical tips on how we can reflect God’s character in our homes. Program Listing:
Marilyn Rockett is the author of Homeschooling at the Speed of Life: Balancing Home, School, and Family in the Real World (B&H Publishing group, April 2007), her most recent book. She gives “Minding Your Time Seminars” and “Passing the Baton Seminars” and speaks at conventions, book fairs, homeschool meetings, Christian women’s meetings, and retreats. Marilyn is also a past managing editor for Homeschooling Today® magazine. Marilyn and her husband, Chesley, are the parents of four grown sons. They home educated the younger three sons for 15 years and are the grandparents of home-taught grandchildren—five grandsons and a granddaughter. Marilyn has contributed to the homeschooling community for over 25 years through writing, counseling, and leadership in local and state homeschool support groups. She has been a state homeschool board member, has edited a state newsletter, and was a state coordinator for Home School Legal Defense Association’s Congressional Action Program (CAP) and the MinuteM.A.N. (Maryland Alert Network) program for home educators in Maryland. She and her husband have been Parents’ Board members of the Hillsdale College Parents’ Association where she was president of the board for one year, elected by the board parents, and the Rocketts are now Associates of Hillsdale College. Marilyn also serves in her church and community. |
