This week, Mike Smith talks with Pamela Hall, who was awarded a place on USA Today’s 2004 teacher team. Hall talks about teaching strategies she used in her classroom, why she chose to homeschool, and how homeschooling allows the parent to tailor a child’s education to suit his needs and interests. Before becoming a homeschool mom, Pamela Hall taught overseas for the Department of Defense for 15 years. While in Germany, she presented numerous teacher in-services throughout the country. Pamela is the recipient of two national awards: she received the Presidential Award for Excellence in Science and Mathematics Teaching in 2001 and the USA Today All-USA Teacher Team award in 2004. She has taught numerous workshops to homeschool groups on topics from science to writing. Most of all, Pamela loves to share from her knowledge and experience to encourage her fellow teaching parents.
