How can I help my child defend his faith in a college setting? Today on Home School Heartbeat, Mike Smith and Zan Tyler suggest a helpful resource.

    Mike Smith:
Many of our students are going to go on to college where they'll have Christianity challenged in an academic setting. Do you think Christian parents should place an emphasis on a Christian worldview study for a high school student?

    Zan Tyler:
Mike, I believe that teaching a child to think like a Christian, which in essence is providing them with a Christian worldview, is absolutely, totally foundational to that child's high school education. It's the grid through which they view the world. Broadman & Holman, in conjunction with Summit Ministries, has just published a study called Thinking Like a Christian, and to me it is one of the best studies I've seen. It takes 10 of the academic disciplines, including theology, philosophy, biology, ethics, and the list goes on, and teaches your student how to view these things from a scriptural perspective. I don't think we're going to see revival in this country until we teach our children how to take back the high ground academically in conjunction with the high ground morally and spiritually. And so as we teach our children to think like a Christian, I think we're training the next generation to usher in revival in our world.

    Mike:
I agree with you; that's very, very important. Until next time, I'm Mike Smith.
