When the Israelites spied out the Promised Land, they felt as powerless as grasshoppers. But Joshua and Caleb knew that God could do anything through them. Today on Home School Heartbeat , Michael Farris reminds us that with God's help, we can impact our culture for good. Michael Farris: It's easy to say, hard to imagine. This is the land of MTV, Internet porn, abortion, homosexuality, greed, and accomplished selfishness. This is the land that has forgotten its constitutional principles. There are giants in the land. The task is daunting. But just like the Moses generation, who received the spies' report, we have to decide who we are going to believe. Will we look at the difficulties and believe in the power of the world? Or will we look at the potential of our children and believe in the power of God? Shortly after I started HSLDA in 1983, I began to sense that God's purpose for my generationthe Moses generationof homeschoolers was to win just enough freedom for parents to teach their children the principles of righteousness and freedom. And I believed that the next generation could, like the generation of the Founding Fathers, have a profound impact for good. I am talking about generational greatness that has implications for eternityabout raising men and women of faith who, because they love God, refuse to sit silently by while their nation hates what He loves and loves what He hates. I see great things for our nation through the Joshua generation. I'm Mike Farris. If you'd like to be placed on Patrick Henry College's mailing list, call 1-540-338-1776 or email info@phc.edu.
