Many women who choose to stay home with their children find that this new job has numerous benefits. When the going gets tough, though, these benefits may be hard to see. Join Mike Smith as he talks about a few of them today on Home School Heartbeat. Mike Smith: Scripture repeatedly charges parents to train their children. Proverbs 22:6 promises that such training will produce lasting results, yet training is difficult when parents have little time for their children. Coming home from work gives moms a chance to invest in something much more valuable than their 401K plan. Having a parent at home helps create an atmosphere of stability. Children need this stability and unconditional acceptance to succeed throughout their lives. Parents know the needs of their children better than anyone else and care more about providing for them. As children grow and change, so do their needs. Stay-at-home moms have a unique vantage point, watching their children grow from helpless infants to mature adults. Homeschooling allows parents an even greater opportunity to observe their children's strengths and weaknesses and help them grow. The spiritual and academic guidance parents can pour into their children when they homeschool will transform their lives. Mothers who come home from work will face challenges and sacrifices, but the many benefits of being a stay-at-home mom make the sacrifices worthwhile. Until next time, I'm Mike Smith.
