How on earth can I keep juggling all these things for another 10 years? Chairman Michael Farris talks about making homeschooling life easier, today on Home School Heartbeat. Michael Farris: Here are a few Vickie and I have come up with: Use paper plates. When you've had a hard day, you don't need all that kitchen cleanup! Kids don't need baths every night. Wash them when they're dirty. Get the kids to help with the housework. They may not do it like you would, but their future spouses will appreciate the training! And here's my favorite: husbands, do the grocery shopping. The perks here are obvious. Don't try to be Supermom. When you think of something that will make the rest of life easier, do it. Simplify your homeschooling by using co-ops, online tutorials, correspondence courses, and the local community colleges. If you feel like you're juggling more than you can keep in the air, evaluate and eliminate. Make time for enjoying learning along with your children. Let some things go, so that for this season of life your main priority (raising up godly offspring) gets the lion's share of your energy and focus. I'm Mike Farris. Vickie Farris has a wonderful book for you homeschooling moms. A Mom Just Like You will fill you with encouragement and give you practical suggestions plus helpful insight into being a homeschooling mom.
