Does homeschooling provide something more than just an excellent academic education? Join Mike Smith on today's Home School Heartbeat as he talks about the community aspects of homeschooling. Mike Smith: Many children today are growing up without two parents in the home. The stresses and problems this places on children are well-documented and few experts deny that the ideal situation for a child is to be raised by a mother and a father. Homeschool parents are with their children 24/7. As a result, most homeschool families develop close family bonds. Parents who send their children to public school do not see their children for most of the day, which makes it more difficult to develop a close bond. Close family relationships are a tremendous blessing in today's fast-paced society, and the stability they provide is invaluable to children. Homeschool families also find it easier to develop wider community relationships with other families because their children are with them during the day. Close family and community relationships are the hidden benefit of the homeschool lifestyle. It can make all the difference to your children. And until next time, I'm Mike Smith. |
