How will the Home School Foundation help homeschoolers in the future? For an answer to that question, join Mike Smith and his guest as they conclude their discussion on today's Home School Heartbeat.
We've been talking this week with Rogers Hellman, one of the board members of the Home School Foundation. Rogers, how do you see the future of the Home School Foundation?
Well, Mike, predicting the future is always risky business. I hate to go down on record and hope that you're not recording this or anything. But I see the future as nothing but growth. We've gone from a simple gift four years ago to half a million last year and this was all on volunteer basis. Our staff has been nothing but HSLDA staff members volunteering time to meet the needs of the homeschooling community through the endeavors of the Foundation. So I see nothing but growth and I think that we will mature as an organization; we will hire our own staff, and the real challenge for us is to grow efficiently but never lose our original vision.
So you would like to see more and more funds available for more and more people.
Exactly. And as long as we're helping people and meeting needs, we're doing our job.
So if people want to make a tax-deductible gift, is it tax-deductible when they give to the Foundation?
Thanks, Rogers. And until next time, I'm Mike Smith.
