Join Mike Smith and Rogers Hellman, director of the Home School Foundation, as they look at the goals of the Foundation on today's Home School Heartbeat.
Mike Smith:
My guest this week is Rogers Hellman. Rogers is a board member of the Home School Foundation, and this week we've been talking about the Foundation. Rogers, what is the vision for the Home School Foundation?
Rogers Hellman:
Speaking very broadly, the vision is to support the homeschooling community, to lovingly and wisely reflect the nature of Jesus. My vision is threefold. One is, I would like the word about what we do to go out as far as it can to as many people as it can, because I want people that are in need to contact us, I want people that are part of the homeschooling community that want to support us to know that we're here and they can help us in financial terms. I would also like to see us being able to provide more substantially for the needs of families with special needs childrenwe can't do that today, not to the extent that we would like to. And finally, I would like to see us connect with businesses, business community, and in particular businesses that derive much of their income from the homeschool community. And I would like to work with them in ways that we can meet the needs that are out there.
Mike:
Rogers, that's a great vision. Listeners, join us next time as we continue our discussion of the Home School Foundation. And I'm Mike Smith.
