Looking for a fresh way to teach your student the duties of citizenship? Then join Michael Farris and Ned Ryun as they talk about a new organization, Generation Joshua, on today's Home School Heartbeat.
Mike Farris:
Ned, I know that your parents were part of the first generation of homeschoolers that fought and won many important battles in the area of the right to homeschool. But frankly, there are still a lot of giants out there in the political land. Now, you've been a part of forming this new program of HSLDA called Generation Joshua to prepare students who are ages 14 to 19 to stand up for truth in our nation and in the area of politics and culture. I'd like you to describe how Generation Joshua will help fulfill this vision.
Ned Ryun:
Well, Mike, Generation Joshua's going to have two focuses. One will be the civics education side of Generation Joshua and the other one will be the student action teams that I described. The civics education is designed to help the young people get a vision for the founding of this country, their duty and responsibility in stewardship of this nation, and the student action teams will then allow them an opportunity to put the civic duty/stewardship of this nation into action. So those two components are the main aspect of Generation Joshua.
Mike:
Ned, I believe the plans that you have to teach patriotism, excellence, and civic duty will really excite families. And it's going to help parents equip their sons and daughters to win the political and cultural battles in the years ahead. I'm Mike Farris.
