Mike Smith: Yes, homeschooling requires significant cost in terms of time, money, and effort, but the rewards will potentially last for eternity. A child who comes to faith through the teaching of Christian truth in homeschool will be eternally grateful. Because of this important truth, many homeschool parents choose to look at life from God's perspective. Day-to-day worries—though real—are put into perspective. All the research shows that the average homeschool student is academically and socially successful. Parents deciding to homeschool can be secure in the knowledge that the homeschooling alternative works. The homeschool method delivers what it promises. Of course, the quality of a homeschool is largely determined by the parents, and most parents who choose to homeschool are among the most dedicated. This combination of dedication, adherence to Christian principles, and the one-on-one tutorial system helps make homeschooling so successful. A homeschooling parent is preparing their child for the time when they graduate and begin life on their own two feet. A typical prayer is that the child will live a life that glorifies God and spreads the good news of his son Jesus Christ. The Bible tells us that a mature Christian brings joy to his or her parents. Homeschooling costs-but the sacrifice is worth it in the end. And until next time, I'm Mike Smith. |
