This week we conclude our discussion of whether homeschoolers are retreating from society. It's a topic on which many people of good conscience are divided.
pEffective witness comes from maturity. It is difficult, if not impossible, to be an effective witness if we do not have a growing faith with a goal to achieve Christian maturity.

Sadly, in today's world many Christian children have been negatively impacted by the world's values, and government education has contributed to this reality.

Christian homeschoolers are countering this trend by refusing to do battle with secular educators when their family is at its most vulnerable. However, as their children demonstrate godly virtues and maturity, they will be encouraged to get involved in almost every area of society. Solid training in the Christian worldview will enable the child to effectively counter the world's deceptions.

Jesus urged his disciples to be "in the world but not of the world." Most homeschoolers believe they are striking that balance.

The homeschool movement has seen many children become effective witnesses, and many families can testify to the benefits of homeschooling. By maintaining their distinction from the world and being actively engaged in the world, homeschoolers find themselves at the forefront of the battle for the culture.

As the education establishment continues to decline, homeschooling will continue to grow.
