Regeneration Ministries: Interview with Jayme Metzgar Volume 51, Program 15 3/19/2004
When we follow Christ's leading, we never know what's around the corner. Michael Farris and his daughter Jayme talk about God's unpredictable plans today on Home School Heartbeat.
Jayme, when you returned from Romania after spending a year there working in missions, God had a new vision waiting for you, but not the one that you anticipated. What happened next?
Well, during my final few months in Romania, God began showing me that there were needs there at Hope House Orphanage that I could meet from home in the United States. And the biggest one was that they needed money to build a new building. At the time they were located in a small apartment; there were two bedrooms, seven kids, and there was just not nearly enough room for those children to play. So when I got home to the States I founded a small nonprofit organization called Regeneration Ministries, and by God's grace we raised the money to build a new orphanage for Hope House, and that was completed in December 2000.
Since that time we've stayed involved; we're continuing to provide the money that they need to operate the orphanage on a daily basis. And God has begun to bring some new projects in front of us as well. He's continuing to lead one step at a time, and it's exciting to see what he's going to bring next. Parents, you can open the door to missions for your children by considering a short-term project. The harvest is ready, but the laborers are few. I'm Mike Farris.
