Some wives ask, "If my husband is Prince Charming, then why does he keep acting like a frog?" For a rejuvenating look at married life, join Michael Farris and Terri Camp on today's Home School Heartbeat.
Mike Farris:
Terri, in your book called If It Weren't for Eve, I'd Be a Perfect Wife, you share some real-life experiences that I know many wives will relate to. What do you think a wife should do when her Prince Charming is really not measuring up?
Terri Camp:
Well, for one thing, I used to think that if it weren't for Steve, I'd be a perfect wife-that it was kind of all his fault. You know, he would do these things that would really irritate me-like he would come home and take a nap after work, and I had all these little kids and I thought, "How can he do that?" But what I realized was that those irritations that he had-that affected me-I could do something about helping with those. And I started off thinking, "Well, I'll just pray for him." And I got this really long list of things that he needed to fix. And as I was praying for him, I saw that there were the things that I could do that would help him, like when he came home from work, if I was in a really good mood, it would totally change the whole day for him-or if the house were picked up. You know, there were just little things I could do. So the best thing to do when Prince Charming isn't measuring up is to change your own heart.
Mike:
Terri, I guarantee you that a lot of husbands are hoping their wives are listening and probably will write for copies of the tape and your book and everything. Thanks so much. I'm Mike Farris.
