Are you tempted to blame your spouse when problems crop up in your marriage? Maybe it's really Eve's fault. Join Michael Farris and Terri Camp for a fresh look at marriage on today's Home School Heartbeat.

    Mike Farris:
My guest today is Terri Camp. She's a homeschooling mom of eight, and a good friend.

Terri, you've been married for 17 years, and you've just written a book called If It Weren't for Eve, I'd Be a Perfect Wife. So, honestly, Terri, what's Eve got to do with it?

    Terri Camp:
Well, Mike, it's really all her fault. And I was sitting around my house wondering one day, "Why am I such a failure at everything I do?" I was looking at mounds of laundry and dishes that never seem to always be done-you know, there's always a new one growing on the counter-and I thought, "Something's wrong here. It's got to be someone's fault besides mine."

And I started looking at Eve and I thought, "You know, if she hadn't taken that fatal fruit plunge, then I would not have to do laundry and I would not have to do dishes." None of that would have to be done. But even more importantly, I would not have this strong desire to rule over my husband-which is really what makes me the biggest failure as a wife, is that desire to want to rule over him all the time.

    Mike:
Terri, I think those are some really interesting observations. Listeners, tune in tomorrow for more on marriage from Terri Camp. I'm Mike Farris.

"If only Eve hadn't eaten the fruit," laments Camp, there'd be no pain in childbirth, no wrinkles, no stretch marks . . . In this honest, warmhearted account, she reminds fellow wives and homeschool mothers that they're not alone in their struggle to face personal shortcomings and seek God's path to healing and fullness in marriage.
