Homeschooling is showing up in some of the most unlikely places. Mike Smith and Chris Klicka talk about homeschooling in Eastern Europe on today's Home School Heartbeat. Mike Smith: Chris Klicka: For instance, in the country of Hungary, we were able to assist a young man and his wife to start a national Hungarian homeschool association. They've already got 30 to 40 families that are homeschooling as private schools in Hungary. In Romania, we are working with a homeschool dad of a very young family to help make it legal, because it's currently not legal, and we're working with the vice-chairman of the education committee in Parliament to make it hopefully legal by next year. In the Czech Republic we've been able to assist them through calling out homeschool families to contact the Czech parliament, and last year we were able to literally shut down the parliament for one day and stop a very bad bill that would have outlawed homeschooling.
