Find out how one homeschool graduate is using his experience to strengthen the choices his own children will have in the future, as Michael Farris talks with Patrick Henry College's Director of Distance Learning today on Home School Heartbeat.
Rich, as a homeschool graduate, and now the father of three little kids, you've got a lot invested in the homeschooling movement. Why did you want to be involved in PHC's Distance Learning program?
Mike, I have a passion for education as an issue, and particularly homeschooling. Distance learning is a very popular method of education among homeschoolers, and I'm excited about the prospects of serving our community. PHC offers excellent degree programs and now, with distance learning, we can expand our reach and impact. And without a doubt my daughters will take advantage of distance learning when they are in high school as a way to get a jumpstart on college.
Rich, what is your overall vision for the distance learning program at Patrick Henry?
The vision of the PHC Distance Learning program is to make the college's core curriculum available to students around the world who cannot attend the campus program or who would prefer to stay at home as long as possible. The distance learning program is a tool to expand the reach and impact of the college's mission, which is to train Christian men and women who will lead our nation and shape our culture.
Rich, thanks so much for your dedicated work. Distance learning is a great tool for the homeschooling community. May God bless your efforts. I'm Mike Farris.
