Do you have an exceptionally bright and self-motivated high schooler? Then you'll want to hear Michael Farris talk about Patrick Henry College's Distance Learning program on this edition of Home School Heartbeat.

    Mike Farris:

Our guest again today is Patrick Henry College Director of Distance Learning Rich Shipe. Rich, what courses are currently being offered to families all over the country?

    Rich Shipe:

There are 25 different courses available this year, Mike. This includes Research and Writing, History of the United States, History of the Western World, Latin, and Classical Greek. There are several Bible courses, Physics, and Biology, Euclidean Geometry and College Algebra and Trigonometry. There are several government and philosophy courses and of course Constitutional Law, which you teach, Mike

    Mike:

Rich, tell us about the students who have enrolled in some of these courses.

    Rich:

For the most part, our students are between the ages of 17 and 20 years old. Most of them are homeschoolers who are at home still taking high school courses and are looking to get some college under their belt before they leave home. We even have some that are as young as 15, a few 16-year olds, and also several adults, even homeschool parents that are just looking to expand and continue their education.

    Mike:

It's our hope that PHC's Distance Learning program will provide homeschoolers with additional options as they seek to train their children to lead the nation and shape the culture. I'm Mike Farris.
