Does the impact of homeschooling end when the students graduate? Michael Farris talks about the next generation today on Home School Heartbeat. Mike: Through forty years of wandering in the desert, Moses and the Israelites could only dream about the Promised Land. Because of their fear and unbelief a whole generation perished in the desert. Possessing the land would be up to the next generation, the Joshua generation, and they were in for a fight. The graduates of homeschools across the country are now entering college or the work force. These young men and women are the future leaders of our nation. Their parents have trained them to be wise and godly. Now, just like Caleb and Joshua, God is preparing this generation to fight the battles of their day, looking to God and standing on the shoulders of the generation before them. Isn't that what homeschooling is all about? Preparing the next generation to carry the banner of God into new territory? When someone is 25 years old, I don't want to know how many Awana sections they passedI want to know if they are walking with God and influencing the lives of others for Jesus Christ. Like the generation that followed Moses, I hope and trust that our children will have a tremendous impact on our nation. As Joshua and his contemporaries fought hard to reclaim the Promised Land, our children are charged with fighting to reclaim a lost culture for Christ. The success of our homeschooling efforts will be measured by the effectiveness of their leadership. I'm Mike Farris. Should you homeschool your children? That and other questions are answered in a great resource, Home SchoolingStart Here. It's available to you absolutely free when you contact us here at the Home School Legal Defense Association.
