We often hear about the shining achievements of home educated students. But rarely about the sacrifice's made by the real heroes of the homeschooling movement, their parents, especially their mothers. Today on Home School Heartbeat, Michael Farris, has a word of thanks for homeschooling moms.

I travel throughout the homeschooling community and I often hear words of thanks and appreciation for the work of Home School Legal Defense Association. But as I've been watching my wife now in our 16th year of homeschooling, I often think who thanks the real heroes of the homeschooling movement?


We owe a debt of gratitude to all homeschooling mothers for their willingness to sacrifice their lives so that their children will have the opportunity to grow up Godly, mature, wise, intelligent and loving. And thank you for being willing to swim against the stream of society's definition of success. At the very time the world ridicules a mom who devotes herself exclusively to her family, you've embraced this role with even more enthusiasm than the generations that have gone before you.


The feminists won't hold a conference in China or anywhere else to give you the accolades you so richly deserve but your true reward at least the one you'll see on earth will be children who rise up and call you blessed with their lives, their words and their deeds. Mom it's your legacy of love. This is Michael Farris.
