Homeschooling offers young people an incredible amount of flexibility. Both to learn and to serve. Join us today on Home School Heartbeat as Michael Farris, encourages home educated students with examples of those in Scripture who made a difference in history by serving the Lord while still young. Mike: Young people in the junior high and high school years can sometimes fall into the trap of believing that they're too young to actively serve God. The testimony of Scripture however supports just the opposite conclusion. God wants you to have a ministry today. Remember the story of Samuel, he was just a boy when God called him and gave him a message and mission to carry out. Do you remember the Old Testament story of Naaman, the military hero of Edom who came to Israel for cleansing from his leprosy? Did you know that the key figure in this story was not the prophet Elisha, or the king, or even Naaman but a young girl? The young girl was a Israelite who had been taken captive by the Edomites. She suggested that her master, Naaman visit the prophet of God, Elisha for healing from his leprosy. And it was through her faithful service that the true testimony of Naaman's healing taught a foreign nation that the God of Israel was the one true God. Many homeschooling teenagers are involved in ministries today and God is using them to have an impact right now in their communities. Homeschooling is not just learning academics it also involves learning to serve while you're yet a child. This is Michael Farris. Can you homeschool your children? That and other questions are answered in a great resource called Home Schooling: Start Here. It's available to you absolutely free when you contact us here at the Home School Legal Defense Association. Check us out online at homeschoolheartbeat.com. |
