In Titus 2, the Apostle Paul instructs older women to encourage the younger women in specific duties--including loving their husbands and children and managing their households. On today's Home School Heartbeat, Michael Smith is joined by his wife Elizabeth who has some encouraging words for home schooling moms. Mike Smith: You home schooled our children for a total of 14 years. They've now graduated from our home school, successfully completed college, and launched their careers. What advice do you have for the mothers still in the trenches? Elizabeth: Well, I know that they are definitely in the trenches and my heart goes out to them. All of my sympathy and support. And I just want to encourage them to stay with it, to set their priorities on what's important, to enjoy your children. You will be building amazing memories that you're going to be able to look back on over the years. I even encourage you to write down some of these memories and experiences so that you can keep them as treasures later on. In the process you will also make fabulous friends from among other home school parents and families. And these are friendships for a lifetime. There are so many things to take advantage of in the home schooling years. The idea that the stress of the curriculum and all the challenges are there are soon washed away when we remember the wonderful rewards that we are going to reap. Mike: Thanks, Elizabeth! Please join us again tomorrow listeners as we talk about how to handle the stress of home schooling. Want to begin home schooling your children this year?
