The American Academy for Liberal Education wants Patrick Henry College to limit teaching that God created the world to Bible classes. Why is the college refusing to teach only the theory of evolution in biology class? Mike Farris explains on today's Home School Heartbeat.

We are not going to succumb to demands to exclusively teach evolution simply as a matter of good science. The better evidence is that evolution is a fatally flawed theory.


But, spiritually, why is this so important?


In Hebrews 11, that core chapter on the issue of faith we read these first three verses.


Hebrews 11:1-3
1 Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.
2 This is what the ancients were commended for.
3 By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible. (NIV)


The very first thing that God tells us as foundational to the hall of fame of faith is the belief that the universe was formed at God's command. Christianity is utterly incompatible with the theory that time plus chance lead to the universe, the earth, or the things and people that are in the earth.


Faith and knowledge are completely compatible.


In Romans 1 God says that the world is condemned for rejecting Him because His qualities are plain from observing his physical creation.
