Jonni McCoy desired to be a full-time, stay-at-home mom but she and her family lived in an expensive area near San Francisco. Would it be possible to live on just her husband's income? Months of research into home expenses and experiments with making their money go farther led Jonni to some remarkable discoveries.
She soon learned many ways to stretch the family's income and great tricks for cutting costs. With these changes, she was able to quit her job and realize her dream of being a stay-at-home mom.
Miserly Moms gives us the result of Jonni's research and experimentation. After hearing many other women express how much they would also like to stay at home, or simply learn to live more efficiently, she decided to share her findings, believing if she could make it work in one of the most expensive parts of the country, anyone could make it work.
Prior to motherhood, Jonni spent 10 years as a senior buyer for electronics firms such as Apple Computer and National Semi-conductor. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communications from the University of California at Santa Barbara. Jonni and her husband, Beau, now make their home in Colorado Springs, Colorado. They home school their two children, Jeremy and Jessica. She presents seminars on living for less to women's groups and other conferences.
Jonni has appeared on television programs like The 700 Club and radio programs such as Family Life Today and the Dick Staub Show. She has also been featured in Good Housekeeping, Woman's Day, and Becoming Family magazines. Currently the national spokesperson and shopping expert for Half.com, she is also a regular columnist on several websites.
