Does feeding 5, 000 people at once sound like a miracle of biblical proportions? Not to Rachael Nissley, oldest daughter and chief cook for Christ in Action, a street ministry of home schoolers Denny and Sandy Nissley. Join Michael Farris, President of Home School Legal Defense Association, as he talks with Denny Nissley about his family's ministry on today's Home School Heartbeat.
Mike:
Denny, can you describe a couple of your typical ministry trips for our listeners and also how your children play a role in your outreach.
Denny Nissley:
Mike, let me talk about our disaster relief efforts that we do. As the tornadoes went through Oklahoma City and Hurricane Floyd came into the North Carolina coastal region--my wife did the menu planning, but my children do the cooking, they do the food preparation, they do the cleanup, they do serving. We try to teach them to be a servant and to work hard. I believe a good, hard work ethic is important in our life today, and it's so rare in children.
Mike Farris:
I have to tell you that that's an amazing and effective way to train children to be servants for the Lord. How can our listeners contact your ministry?
Denny Nissley:
Well, we have a website. It's ChristinAction.com. They can get us on the web or they can contact us at Post Office Box 4200, Manassas, VA 20108. Our phone number is 703-368-6286.
Mike:
Denny, I understand that you have written a book that describers some of your ministry experiences, called Fear No Evil, and the listeners can get that book through those contacts as well.
