Mike:
Teri, how long have you been home schooling your family of eight kids?
Teri:
This is our fourteenth year of home schooling.
Mike:
How has a schedule improved your home schooling over the years?
Teri:
Well, even though we have so many children, I still have the confidence that they are each receiving a good education. And I know that I am meeting my states requirements for my home education. And, in addition to that, I have special preschool time with my younger childrenI know many home schooling mommies get discouraged because they dont feel they can be a mommy anymore, theyre so focussed on their schooling time. And Ive also found that I can enjoy my school time because I know that theres time set aside throughout the rest of the day for my tasks such as cleaning, telephone call returning, [and] writingwhatever other things I need to do.
Mike:
Teri, your book Managers of Their Homes comes with a scheduling kit. How does this simplify the scheduling process?
Teri:
Many moms, when they get ready to make a schedule, have a blank sheet of paper in front of them with empty squares and they just have no idea how to begin. So with our scheduling kit, it takes them step by step through this process. And, in addition to that, they have the ability to rearrange the pieces of their schedule without having to race and without having to use tons of whiteout.
