Managers of Their Homes, co-author Teri Maxwell—Introduction
Listen Now
Volume 12, Program 26
Airdate: May 10, 1999

Do you ever feel like there aren’t enough hours in the day? Today on Home School Heartbeat, Mike Farris, president of the Home School Legal Defense Association, interviews Teri Maxwell, co-author of Managers of Their Homes—a practical guide to daily scheduling for Christian home school families.

    Mike:
As someone who has a lot of plates spinning at one time, I understand the desirability of a schedule. Today, my guest is Teri Maxwell. She and her husband have developed materials for families who have that same need. Teri, welcome to our program.

    Teri:
    Thank you very much.

    Mike:
Teri, tell us how your schedule gives you enough hours in the day to do what you need to do.

    Teri:
Well, Mike, this is what is real exciting to me about my schedule—because it gives me the time to fulfill my responsibilities that are my basic responsibilities as a wife, a mother of eight children, a homemaker and a home schooler. But in addition, there’s time for me, and for my desires of my heart.

    Mike:
Are you a naturally scheduled person or is this a discipline that you’ve learned over the years?

    Teri:
It’s something that the Lord has given to me over the years based on the needs that I’ve had in my life. But we’ve also seen lots of other moms who have come to us discouraged and overwhelmed by all that they had to do. And they have gotten hold of this idea of a schedule and found that they could get more done in a morning on their schedule than they could all day when they weren’t on their schedule. And it turned around their feelings to where they weren’t discouraged anymore, but they were hopeful again.

Once again, the book is Managers of Their Homes by Steven and Teri Maxwell. Those interested in the book and Companion Scheduling Kit may either call (913) 772-0392 or go to their website at www.titus2.com.
