Guests: Zach Hunter Zach Hunter is a college student who is helping lead a new generation of activists to put their faith into action to address some of the most serious problems facing the world today. In his debut book, Be the Change (2007), Zach profiles people who are investing in the world to make a difference. Zach’s second book, Generation Change (2008), gives practical steps for students to take action and find solutions to real-world problems. In Lose Your Cool (2009), Zach challenges his peers to shed conventional ideas of what is cool and instead stoke a passion for what really matters. Zach has also written for Boundless, an online magazine for college students and twentysomethings, and Catalyst Groupzine. He has partnered with artists in the Christian community to help raise awareness about human rights violations and the plight of the poor. Recently Zach spoke in Australia, Switzerland, Norway, Germany, and Canada, inspiring youth to make a difference. He also appeared at White House events and was honored by CNN as a modern-day hero. While in 7th grade, Zach launched the Loose Change to Loosen Chains campaign, through which his school and youth group raised awareness and funds to help end modern-day slavery—a problem facing 27 million people worldwide. Today students around the globe are participating in the LC2LC campaign to benefit organizations involved in the abolition of slavery. |
