Beginning to homeschool can be exciting, but also daunting, especially for families with financial worries. On today’s Home School Heartbeat, learn how you can partner with the Home School Foundation to help these families get started.

Mike Smith:
One of the best gifts a family can receive is help with launching their own homeschool program. Would you please tell our listeners about the Home School Foundation’s Homeschool Starter Kits, Tracy?

Tracy Klicka MacKillop:
Mike, our Homeschool Starter Kit is something new we’ve started this year. The decision to homeschool is both an exciting and sobering step to take, yet not every family has all the tools they need to begin. Many of our prospective grant families don’t qualify for financial assistance from us yet, because they’ve just started their homeschooling journey. While they wait to qualify, we are excited to be able to provide them with a box of encouragement. It’s a small box containing a variety of items, such as a homeschool planner, Chris Klicka’s timeless book The Heart of Homeschooling, numerous basic educational supplies, plus encouraging tips and information about homeschooling in their state. We think it’s a perfect gift for a committed new homeschooler with severely limited resources. To send these out to our families, however, we need sponsors. Contact homeschoolfoundation.org to bless a new homeschooling family today.

What a valuable resource for any new homeschool family. Tracy, thank you for joining us this week to share about the Home School Foundation. And, until next time, I’m Mike Smith.
