Prayer has a vital role in homeschooling families. On this week’s program, Elizabeth Smith discusses how to cultivate prayer in your homeschool. She shares her experience as a homeschool mom and how God has used prayer in her own life. Also, she offers some helpful ideas for how to teach children about prayer. Program Listing:
Guests: Elizabeth Smith Elizabeth Smith, wife of Home School Legal Defense Association President Mike Smith, taught three of her four children at home from 1981 to 1996, when the youngest entered college. For 30 years, Elizabeth’s practical wisdom has encouraged audiences at homeschool conferences, symposiums, and women’s retreats throughout the United States. Michael and Elizabeth have appeared several times on Focus on the Family’s radio program. Elizabeth is spokesperson for the Home School Foundation and serves on the board of directors of Breakthrough Intercessors Prayer Ministry. She is a founding board member of the National Black Home Educators. She is regional prayer and personal witnessing leader for the Virginia Auxiliary of Gideons International. Elizabeth has lobbied on pro-family issues in her state capitol and in Washington, D.C., and is a board member of the Virginia family policy council, The Family Foundation. She has taught women's Bible study in her local church for 10 years. |
